I have been mulling over the idea of creating a blog for awhile now. So why do it? Why now? I love being a teacher. More specifically, I love being a special educator. I love going to work each day. I love the students I work with. I feel honored and privileged to do what I do. Yes, I face challenges each and every day. Yes, I feel demoralized and demonized by the current public discourse on public education. Yet, somehow…it doesn’t matter. This blogspace is not political. It will not be a place to lament over all the difficulties in public education. It is a place to celebrate what happens in classrooms serving students with special needs. Selfishly, often what is happening in my classroom.
